-- Did you always want to be a model? Tell us about how you were discovered.

I’ve always wanted to be a creative, but I didn’t discover my passion for modeling until college. I started modeling in high school just for fun, but I wasn’t necessarily in love with it.

College gave me the opportunity to dive deeper into modeling. During my freshman year, I joined a collective called Spark and was cast to walk in the Word on the Street fashion show. From there, I continued walking in on-campus shows, and by my junior year, I became the modeling coach for one of the largest productions at Virginia Tech, Vêtement de Rue. That same year, I signed with my first agency. After only six months, I decided to leave and was rediscovered on Instagram by my current agency, Vie Modeling and Talent Agency.

-- What is your favorite form of self care?

Hmmm I think just taking a day to spend with myself or with my friends, if it’s a super busy week maybe the answer is a true self care day… time alone to unwind and relax. Or maybe I want to socialize, go out, get food, do an activity. It definitely depends on the day.

-- What other passions do you have aside from modeling?

If you guys couldn’t tell, I’m a Muslim woman, so I’m super passionate about my religion and making time to read, learn more, give back to the community etc. for instance I’ve hosted back to school drives, fundraisers for humanitarian causes particularly in Muslim countries, but immediately after that, I’m a creative that can’t pick a hobby, so I love painting, I enjoy writing, I’ve even tried to pick up the guitar, I’d say I don’t have specific passions aside of modeling, just random interest that I enjoy. I recently started archery and basketball, actually, I’m that friend that’s always doing something random.
